How do you proceed? Which graphic tools do you use? How long does it take to make such an image?
How are they printed? On which kind of paper? Will the colours last for ever?
How many multiples do you make from one image? Are they numbered? Signed?
I would like to see one of my photographs processed with the same technics. Can you do it?

At
the begining ( in December 1999), I used to start from my own photographs,
on paper; which I scan on my computer and then process through typical
graphic tools like Photoshop, cropping, resizing and using multiple filters
and playing with the size of the virtual brushes, the resolution and the
level of detail which I believe give the best results. The colours are,
in most cases, the original colours from the initial photograph. After
many trials, I keep only one final image, at 200 dpi, which I store in
JPEG, using around 1 Megabyte. -NEW- Today, in order to print my images in A2 format, the necessary storage can go up to 5 Megabytes for each one.
The time I need today to create a new image
from a photograph is not so long (from 2 hours to 2 days), depending on
the nature of the photo and my inspiration, but it should take into account
all the time spent (about 8 months) to improve the technics and the tools
and understand what works and what doesn't. Today I extended my sources
with slides and video shots, using exactly the same technics. I could use
also digital photos, which will only save me the scanning time. I don't
need a high class camera and mine is generally a simple compact one. The
best photos do not give necessarily the best "painted" images, and my greatest
satisfaction is when I have been able to produce a beautiful image from
a part of a photograph which, normally, you wouldn't have even kept into
an album!
Yes,
I do sell most of my images. But the selling through Internet fits better
either the people who already had the opportunity to see my images printed
on art paper (from my previous exhibitions or
elsewhere), or who heard about my work from friends.
Also the persons who already bought some of them, can browse my gallery
to discover my most recent and new creations . The price is only 60
euros, for the A3 format, including shipping by postal services in the euro countries.
If you can take away yourself your order in Paris, you will not pay the
shipping charges (10 euros).
-NEW- I can now produce 2 kinds of images:
1) still in A3 format, as previously, signed but not numbered, and still at 50 euros (excluding shipping charges)
2) in A2 format (42cm x 60 cm), signed, numbered and printed in limited number (10), with a DIGIGRAPHIEŽ stamp.
The price, for an A2 image, is today 120 euros (excluding shipping charges).
3) I can now sell and ship my images to any country in the world with the following condition: for France, shipping charges are 10 euros, payment by checks or Paypal,
for all other countries, shipping charges are 15 euros and payment has to be in euros by Paypal.

print personally all my images now with an EPSON PHOTO STYLUS PRO 3800 printer at
2880 dpi. The paper used is either a white coated A3 (29,7 cm by 42 cm) from CANSON
(170 g), ready to be framed, either a natural textured A2 (42 cm by 59,4 cm) from ARCHES. This A2 art paper is certified by EPSON for DIGIGRAPHIEŽ
Each
image is a printed copy of an original and unique picture , created and
owned by me and which is stored on my computer. In A3 format, it is signed but not numbered
( but, necessarily the number of copies is limited because it is not an
industrial process). -NEW- In A2 format, it is signed, produced in limited number(10) and certified with a stamp as DIGIGRAPHIEŽ
Normally,
I use only my own original photographs to create my "painted" images. But,
I am also interested in having access to other sources because my stock
is limited. So I am ready to make a deal: you can send
me some of your own photos (any size, any resolution in JPEG); if they
inspire me, if they are suitable with my technics, I will try to create
some new images from them. I will submit them to you, and if you agree
to give me the rights to produce and sell multiple such images from your
original, you will receive one free image, printed on art paper. If you
don't agree, or if your photos are not suitable, I will discard them and
will never use them. So, it's free and at no risk for you.

There
are probably a lot of people using similar technics, but I have never seen
anybody producing similar results. As most of the graphic tools used are
publicly available, the difference comes from the "savoir-faire", my research
and experiments during about 8 months...and some additionnal little secrets
